California Medical Assn. to oppose healthcare bill under debate in Senate

This isn’t good for Harry Reid. California just joined Georgia, Florida, and Texas in publically opposing the bill. This should give cause for concern with some of the Dems based in California alone. It’s a bad bill. Period.

The state’s largest doctors group is opposing healthcare legislation being debated in the Senate this week, saying it would increase local healthcare costs and restrict access to care for elderly and low-income patients.

The California Medical Assn. represents more than 35,000 physicians statewide, making it the second-largest state medical association in the country after Texas.

Obama’s Afghanistan Speech Short on Hope & Change

I will admit that I was only able to stomach about three-fourths of Obama’s speech before switching to something that didn’t involve me yelling at my TV. It pained me to watch our best and brightest young soldiers fidgeting, dozing, and looking disgusted as their Commander-in-Chief determined their fate to fulfill his own political agenda while trying to please everyone. It was clear that these cadets were told to offer respect, and applaud when necessary; and they did. One also need not be a mind reader to determine only from the looks on their faces that they were thinking that they had no faith in this leader that they had to follow into battle.

For Obama, it was clear that his disdain for the United States Military showed through his forced words of patriotism and revenge against the people who attacked us. It was only about 30 seconds into his speech when he again reminded us of the wonderful, peaceful religion of Islam, one of the “world’s great religions” as he loves to say to appease our enemies who were also no doubt watching. He began his speech by giving a history lesson of the 9/11 attacks to the very people who study military history. For Obama there was a bit of revisionist history as well. He did say that he opposed the Iraq war, but now takes credit for the surge and the withdrawal of troops. Does he honestly believe that we will not remember his and the Democrat party’s efforts to undermine our troops and call them war criminals every step of the way? Those cadets remember, and could no doubt see through his efforts to erase the history of his party politics. Obama fought the surge tooth and nail, and when it was clear in the end that it was successful, could barely bring himself to admit it.

His tactic of sending 30,000 troops in the beginning of 2010, and his announcement that he will withdraw them in July of 2011 is another reminder of his inexperience and lack of any tactical knowledge of our history of military engagement. Why would he announce that we will be leaving on a certain date? Does he not believe that the enemy will just return in August of 2011 as soon as we leave? Does a quarterback let the opposing team know which play he is calling prior to the snap? Do the police announce the date and time of their next drug bust? He just announced the dates of our surge and withdrawal of troops. He also let the enemy know where and how we will deploy. In my opinion, he just broke his sworn oath to protect our country from enemies both foreign and domestic. Why would he disclose this information on national television, while preempting a “Charlie Brown Christmas,” by the way? And why the interesting timing of the withdrawal of troops in July of 2011? Is it because that’s when his re-election campaign goes into full gear? Make no mistake; everything this president does is through the lens of political tactics. He needs to appease the hawks and the doves, the American people and the nations of the world, and his far-left fringe base who will be vocal in their opposition, but still support him when they see him withdrawing troops just in time for the campaign.

The other thing that bothered me was his talk of the cost of the war from a financial perspective. How dare he place a monetary cost on these soldier’s lives and our freedom. What does freedom cost Mr. Obama? Does it cost more than a pork filled bill with over 9,000 earmarks in the guise of a stimulus? Does it cost more than the takeover of banks, insurance companies, automobile companies, and mortgage institutions? Does it cost more than a phony cap & trade bill or the cost to fly your fleet of jets to Oslo to pick up your Nobel Peace Prize? I cannot recall one president in the history of our nation who has increased our spending, raised the deficit to unheard of amounts, and took so much control of every aspect of our lives, only to address our national security by attaching a price tag to it. You are not worthy of this high office sir, and your leadership of this country has put us on unstable footing in the world. You have weakened both our image and our strength and will be a one-term president because of your actions. I can only hope and pray for that kind of change.

Gibbs: Despite research dispute, ‘climate change is happening’ Thanks Baghdad Bob

Well, the most embarrassing White House Press Secretary, Baghdad Bob Gibbs is in total denial. “I don’t think that’s anything that is, quite frankly, among most people, in dispute anymore,” he said during Monday’s press briefing. He is, of course referring to anthropogenic (that means man-made for you liberals out there) global warming.  This guy could get hit in the face with a frying pan and deny the existance of frying pans. What a maroon! Our President is flying his multitude of CO2 emitting jets to Copenhagen while he’s in the neighborhood to pick up his Nobel Peace Prize (which he won for what he is supposedly going to do in the future) and commit the United States to billions of dollars to contain the emissions we produce all in the name of halting global warming which doesn’t exist to begin with. Stay with me here for a minute. It has been revealed in the recently exposed emails from the University of East Anglia CRU that the numbers were falsified to create a movement of government control and grant money. Obama is still going to Copenhagen. Still.

We're not going to let the truth get in the way of our agenda

The White House on Monday made exceptionally clear that it wants nothing to do with the furor over documents that global warming skeptics say prove the phenomenon is not a threat.

Despite the incident, which rocked international headlines last week, climate science is sound, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs stressed this afternoon, and the White House nonetheless believes “climate change is happening.”

Health bills fail to block illegals from coverage – Can you say “YOU LIE?”

When is the press going to vindicate Joe Wilson after his shout heard round the congress? His “You lie” shout turned out to be correct, but don’t hold your breath on any comments from the anointed one. Our tax dollars will go to pay for people who are not in this country legally. Period. It will also pay for abortions, and anything else these 535 people want to put in their 2,000+ page bills. Have you called your Senators and Representatives yet? I have.

You Lie!

Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants could receive health care coverage from their employers under the bills winding their way through Congress, despite President Obama’s explicit pledge that illegal immigrants would not benefit.

The House bill mandates, and the Senate bill strongly encourages, businesses to extend health care coverage to all employees. But the bills do not have exemptions to screen out illegal immigrants, who usually obtain jobs by using false identities and are indistinguishable from legal workers.

Iran has approved plans to build 10 new uranium enrichment plants, the country’s state media has said.

Upon hearing the news that Iran plans to build 10 new uranium enrichment plants, Barack Obama has said he will put Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a time out and if he still doesn’t behave he will be sent to bed with no supper. Ahmadinejad responded by screaming at Obama saying he doesn’t understand him adding, “you’re not the boss of me.” It has been reported by a White House official who on condition of anonymity said they are considering consulting with The Nanny.

Keep talking Obama

The announcement comes two days after the UN demanded Iran halt construction of a newly revealed enrichment facility near the city of Qom.

A cabinet meeting headed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran to begin building at five new sites, state television IRIB reported on its website.

The government also ordered the Iranian body to locate sites for another five over the next two months, the media organisation said.

The US has called the expansion plans “another serious violation” of the country’s international obligations.

HHS would become federal giant under Senate plan

Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius would be the new queen of healthcare should this bill be passed. She would be given unprecedented control over cost, regulation, and every detail of your healthcare and the entire industry. The states would also be stripped of their regulatory status and handed to Secretary Sebelius. The Federal Government has never had any experience with this and will jeopardize every man, woman, and child living in this country. Not to mention the unconstitutionality of this move.

A quick search of the Senate health bill will bring up “secretary” 2,500 times.

That’s because Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius would be awarded unprecedented new powers under the proposal, including the authority to decide what medical care should be covered by insurers as well as the terms and conditions of coverage and who should receive it.

“The legislation lists 1,697 times where the secretary of health and humans services is given the authority to create, determine or define things in the bill,” said Devon Herrick, a health care expert at the National Center for Policy Analysis.

For instance, on Page 122 of the 2,079-page bill, the secretary is given the power to establish “the basic per enrollee, per month cost, determined on average actuarial basis, for including coverage under a qualified health care plan.”
